This sniper rifle is an anti material rifle, using .50 caliber. Even a shot in a foot results in a instant kill in Infiltration. This was decided by the developers, as the big caliber of the sniper rifle would cause a serious damage even on smallest hits. Either because it will rip off a full body part (happens in RL often when using .50 caliber bullets) or it will result in a so called wound shock... even though the wound shock is to be discussed... at least a hit with a .50 bullet will cause serious wounds, so they decided to make it an insta kill.
