LogMeIn HamchiDear Community,

some of you are using Hamachi to play in a VPN LAN your favorite games together with your nearest friends.

Since Windows 7 Hamachi has some more trouble than already known from Windows Vista.
Even when you have configured it right, file transfers and ping are working, it happens very often you cannot find any servers in your ingame-server browser.
This happens because LogMeIn Hamachi and Windows 7 aren't able to forward the packages through the Hamachi-VPN.

A small programm will fix this. You can find the download at the end of this article.

How to set up Hamachi right?

At first, to prevent problems in your Hamachi VPN, you should configure some minor things. Sometimes this fixes the most problems of communication errors.
On your Windows 7, doesn't matter if x86 or x64, open the Start-Menu. Then type into the search "ncpa.cpl". This opens the network connections panel.

Change the metric

Now change, in the advance properties, of the Hamachi Network Adapter the metric. Do as following:
  • Start -> "run"
  • "ncpa.cpl" then ENTER.
  • Rightclick on "Hamachi" and PROPERTIES
  • Deactivate "Internetprotocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)"
  • "Internetprotocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" -> PROPERTIES -> Advanced (? dunno trabslation)
  • Interface metric to "10".
  • Hamachi Gateway 5.0.0.1 Metric to "1500"

Change the priority

In the network connections panel, press the [Alt]-key to show the menu, if it's not present already. Then choose "Advanced" and "Advanced Properties". Move Hamachi to the top.
That means in plain-text:
  • Start -> "run"
  • "ncpa.cpl" then ENTER.
  • Press [ALT]-Key (Menu appears)
  • Advanced  --> Advanced Properties
  • Move Hamachi to the top
  • OK

After these two steps...

...restart your computer. This is a must-do, otherwise the settings of your network connections will not work.
Of course, you can restart your computer later, but if you are willed to play -and I'm sure you will, you have to do it before. ;-)

Hamachi still can't find the games in the Server Browser

If this happens, it's like alreday mentioned: you packages are forwarded wrong. It is not your fault, more a communication problem of Windows 7 and Hamachi.
There is a small tool, let's call it "Hamachi Broadcast Fix". You just start it, enter your Hamachi IP, then choose your internet connection, then the Hamachi connection and leave the program in the background while you're playing your game(s).
After you've finished, just close it and open it again if you like to play again. You need this program everytime you play, like a diabetic his insulin.

Here you can download the "Hamachi Broadcast Fix" for free.

Please give us some feedback if this fix helped you! Feel free to set up a posting to our forum.
Here is the topic, concerning hamachi.
