Dear Community,

the Punkbuster Init Failure. Everyone knows the Punkbuster Init Failure, not only from hearsay.
Players get kicked randomly and there still seems to be no solution.

But yesterday we've found a possible solution for some major punkbuster problems, relating Battlefield Bad Company 2.

This soulution is simple, fast and will solve your problem within a few minutes without doing much. But, at first, concerning this, we have a good and a bad news.

At first the bad news: We haven't tested it enough.
and the good: (but...) It solved our problem with punkbuster kicks.
The procedure is described in the Battlefield Bad Company 2 Fan Group Forum as following:

1. Download the pbsetup.exe from Evenbalance
2. Navigate to the BFBC2 install directory
3. Delete the whole content of the "pb" directory (yes, even the dll's etc.)
4. Start the pbsetup.exe and update BFBC2. The files will downloaded as new.

This should help you visiting more servers than before.

There is also another suggestion, concerning the Data Exectuion Prevention of Microsoft and a wrong path to the punk buster files.
