This sniper rifle is an anti material rifle, using .50 caliber. It can penetrate even light armoured tanks (in real life).  Real Life vs Games: The Barrett M95 sniper rifle is not used by the US army. The US army choose to use the M82 barrett instead (but it seems, a lot other countries and some special forces use the M95 though) The Barrett M95 sniper rifle not a semi automatic rifle, you cannot shoot several bullets directly after each other. The M95 is bolt action, that means, you have to load the next bullet manually to the chamber.  The M95 is more deadly in real life than in games: It uses .50 caliber rounds, they are so big and travel so fast, that even a slight hit will cause a deadly wound: for example: if it hits an arm, the arm will be ripped off. The victim will die very fast due to blood loss or die immediately due to the impact. It is very unlikely to survive a hit from a .50 bullet. Especially in dust tests the HK 416 performs better than the M4 (Source: http://www.armytimes.com/news/2007/12/army_carbine_dusttest_071217/). Real Life vs. Games: Battlefield Bad Company 2 calls it M416 (and many sites claim, it's a combination of M4 and M16), but this rifle is a complete new development from Heckler & Koch, designed to use parts from the M4 and M16 series. The HK 416 was developed by the german manufacturer Heckler & Koch with support by the US Delta Force. It is designed to use parts from other weapons (especially the stock and trigger group from the M4) and combine it with the new parts from the HK 416. Who uses it? Afaik the special forces chose to switch to the HK 416, but then the US Army decided, that the special forces have to use the M4 instead of the M416. Wikipedia claims, the F2000 is the civilian version of the military FN FS2000 assault rifle. Still there are armies who use the F2000 assault rifle (e.g. Belgium if I am not wrong). So what is the real difference between these two versions? Battlefield Bad Company 2 uses this rifle instead of the FS2000, no idea why :).

Reality vs Games: The XM8 series existed only as prototypes. Even though test results were sometimes a lot better than competing products, the US Army did not want it. Heckler & Koch continued the program for some time but stopped it finally. This rifle is not produced anywhere (afaik). grenade launcher cannot be attached Difference to XM8 The XM8C is the compact version of the XM8 assault rifle: shorter barrel (9" instead of 12") foldable stock grenade launcher cannot be attached Some games list it as a submachine gun, while others list it as an assault rifle.
